Annual General Meeting 2020 – New Meeting Date - Eastern Savings and Loans

Annual General Meeting 2020 – New Meeting Date

Posted on March 25, 2020

The Annual General Meeting of Eastern Savings and Loans Credit Union was to have been held on the 16th March 2020.

Government advice concerning Covid19 was evolving on the afternoon of the 16th March and those gathered for the meeting determined it was unwise to proceed. Consequently there was not a sufficient quorum present and the meeting stood adjourned.

Rule 94 enables the credit union to hold a replacement meeting within 30 days of the adjourned AGM. We have received advice from both the Financial Conduct Authority and the Association of British Credit Unions that credit unions facing this situation may, given the current restrictions on movement, consider holding a meeting using video conferencing technology.

The board of directors has determined that we will hold the adjourned AGM by video conference on the 31st March 2020 at 6.30 pm. The agenda for the meeting will be identical to that circulated for the 16th March 2020 with one significant variation. The board has, in the circumstances of the Covid19 epidemic, agreed to withdraw the proposal for the payment of a dividend on the balance of member shares held in 2018/19.

Please find a copy of the Annual Report which includes the agenda for the AGM and a copy of the Annual Financial Statements (accounts) here.
